Welcome!

Ciao Tutti!

A little bit about myself: I was fortunate enough to spend 3 years right out of high school living in Florence, Italy, learning and studying the wonderful world of wine and the culinary arts. I fell madly in love with the city, the food but most of all, the wine. I became a Certified Expert of Wine and completed my Level 2 Sommelier degree through Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS). Perhaps one of the most inspiring concepts that I learned during that time was that wine is much more than just something to drink alone or with dinner. It is something that lives and changes. It has personality and history. Its journey from the vine to the bottle is much like a child slow journey into adulthood. Like a child, wine begins its life rough and wild, and over time changes, settles down and develops the kind of elegance that comes with age. During the aging process it matures and becomes refined enough to drink, finally ready to share its beauty with the rest of the world.

I too would like to help share the beauty of wine with those who are passionate or even just curious about it. After I graduated, I began teaching classes in Italy and LOVED it. I found that people had a deep thirst to drink up (pun intended) as much knowledge as they could about wine. I also found that I also LOVED to answer their questions, help them with food pairing ideas, or even just exchanging wine adventures. That is what I want this blog to be about. It is a place to ask questions about wine, ask for recommendations concerning pairing wine with food, finding the best wine for any type of budget, when to drink and when to store wines, etc. I also love to hear about new wines, your personal favorites and even wine adventures you want to go on or have already been on.

My interest in wine started when I was very young (about seven years old) but curiosity developed into the devoted study of it when I turned 18. I’m 25 now and still learning about it daily. The best thing about wine is that it is always changing therefore always challenging and never boring. It is never to early or late to start learning. So, I’d like to invite you to raise your glasses and lets cheers to the perpetually enticing world of wine...

Salute!
